After a tragic security breach in the Joint Inter-Agency Task Force (JIATF), the FBI asks for help authorities in Miami. Tasks are assigned to detectives James "Sonny" Crockett and Ricardo 'Rico' Tubbs. Acting under the guise of members coast of racing boats and outlaw smugglers Sonny Burnett and Rico Cooper, rozpracowują network of drug traffickers led by the mysterious Montoy'ą Arcangel de Jesus and his Cuban-Chinese bankierką Isabella. The intensity of the case pushes Crockett and Tubbs over the edge where identity and the boundaries between the guise of a blur, where the policeman and player become one - especially when Crockett lost his head for Isabella, and when it comes to the attack on his beloved Tubbs.
