Were based on the novel by Ian McEwan picture tells a story of the hottest day of summer 1935. Thirteen Briony Tallis (Saoirse Ronan) is accidentally witnesses her older sister Cecilia (Keira Knightley) is looking for a refreshing swim naked in the fountain located in the rural estate Tallisów. The girl is also seen Robbie Turner (James McAvoy) - son of the housekeeper in charge of the home and school friend Cecilia.
Before the end of life of all three will change forever. Robbie and Cecilia cross the border, which previously afraid to come near, and Briony commits a violent crime, from which consequences will have to live the rest of his days.
